Com-Net Software, the largest dedicated provider of flight information display systems in North America, today announced that it has successfully completed a major MUFIDS deployment at Orlando International Airport. Com-Net installed ECLIPSX® Flight Information Display System 5.0 and will provide on-site maintenance and repair services for the next seven years.
“The deployment at Orlando International Airport was challenging because there were many different technologies of varying vintages that have to be driven with modern technology,” said Chance Fultz, Com-Net Software’s Vice President of Product Development. “The technical staff from Com-Net and the airport worked very well together and made the transition smooth and successful.” Approximately 600 displays are being driven throughout the airport.
Com-Net began work on the two-phased deployment on June 26, 2006 and completed all installation activities on October 30, 2006. The project is scheduled to be complete by the end of the calendar year following the testing and run-in periods.
“We are extremely proud to have Orlando International Airport join our growing list of satisfied airport customers,” said Dave Michaels, Com-Net President and CFO. “We look forward to working with them to implement their passenger communications initiatives.”
Orlando International Airport is the largest airport in Florida and the 12th largest airport in the United States. Almost 35 million passengers travel through Orlando International Airport on more than 50 carriers. For more information visit www.orlandoairports.net. |
