Com-Net Software today announced today the launch of the second major release of its award-winning ECLIPSX® Digital Paging. The official unveiling will be made at 16th Annual ACI-NA Conference and Exhibition in Kansas City on September 30.
“ECLIPSX Digital Paging 2.0 is our most significant product release to date,” said vice president of product development, Chance Fultz. “It was a ground up redesign based upon advances in the IT and professional audio industries.”
Some of the enhancements made include:
- Fully configurable touch screen paging station with the ability to control up to four microphones simultaneously.
- Easy to use rules engine for creating dynamic announcements based upon flight information changes.
- Advanced visual paging capabilities including support for images and animations.
- Full system redundancy including real-time monitoring, failover, and e-mail notification for all audio and PC equipment.
- Enhanced user and administration utilities including a dynamic message builder and visual paging controller.
- Support for Biamp® AudiaFLEX® Digital Audio Platform, the best-of-breed digital signal processing.
- 100% RoHS compliant audio and PC components to support airports in sustainable solutions and LEED® certification.
Com-Net also announced it has developed a Com-Net Certified Interface program to seamlessly integrate other IT systems with ECLIPSX Digital Paging. “While we have significant market share of the flight information display systems in North America, we recognize that airports may not have the funds to replace two systems at the same time or they may have a legacy system from a different vendor.” said Dave Michaels, president and CFO. “Our goal is to provide rich functionality to our customers and their tenants, including the ability to update flight information from our touch screen paging station. The bidirectional certified interface gives us that ability without requiring Com-Net or the other vendor to expose proprietary code or any other intellectual property.”
“We plan to change the way airports think about passenger communications, public address systems in particular,” said vice president of sales and marketing, Kelly Kavanaugh. “With the recent convergence of IT and professional audio, industry experts are beginning to recognize that audio is data on the airport's local area network and it needs to be managed and secure, like any IT asset.” She added, “With all that has happened in this industry, public address systems are no longer ‘set it and forget it' systems. Dynamic messaging and advances in wireless technology are giving airports greater flexibility in messaging and those systems require IT management and expertise.”
ECLIPSX Digital Paging 1.0 was selected as the runner-up for the National Sound Contractor Association (NSCA)'s Sound & Video Contractor Magazine 2006 Innovations in Technology Award. |
