Com-Net Software announced today that it has entered into an agreement with the Roanoke Regional Airport Authority (RRAA) to install two products from its ECLIPSX® family of Passenger Communication Systems: ECLIPSX Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) and ECLIPSX Digital Paging. When integrated, the two products will provide a sophisticated platform for audio-visual communications to airport passengers. The design-build project includes the installation of a new network infrastructure with approximately 30 LCD displays, 27 intelligent touch screen paging stations, and eight new airline workstations. The unified system is fully redundant and has the capability to fail over any critical system component. The public address system (Digital Paging) monitors the ambient noise level throughout the airport in real-time and dynamically adjusts the volume up or down depending upon conditions. A focal point of the new system will be a three-panel video wall above the central escalators leading from the concourse to the terminal which will welcome passengers, provide way-finding information, and present stunning visual imagery to promote the Roanoke area. “Roanoke’s team was very thorough in their requirements and evaluation, so being selected is particularly satisfying and, I believe, a testament to the quality our product,” said Dave Michaels, Com-Net’s President and CEO. He added, “We look forward to moving this project forward and to bringing Roanoke into our family of satisfied customers.” The project began mid-April and is scheduled for completion in 120 days. Roanoke Regional Airport is located in southern Virginia and handles approximately 700,000 passengers annually on 5 airlines. For more information visit the airport online at www.roanokeairport.com. |
