The Port of Portland will soon upgrade the Portland International Airport – named the “Nation’s Best Airport” for the third consecutive year by Conde Nast Traveler – with an integrated passenger communication system from Com-Net Software. The $1.3 million project scheduled for completion in late 2009 includes Com-Net’s ECLIPSX® Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) and ECLIPSX Digital Paging. “We chose Com-Net for their flexibility and integration capabilities, as well as their partnership approach to implementing our new system,” said Linda Dyson, Senior Manager Aviation Information Technology. “Com-Net’s products are well-suited to PDX because they afford us the opportunity to continue our tradition of leveraging flight information to serve our customers and our operational needs. We also appreciate Com-Net’s efforts to embrace airport/airline data integration standards.” With integration of the new state-of-the art passenger communication system, Portland has the increased flexibility needed to sustain its outstanding and cost-competitive facilities and customer service.
