Miamisburg, Ohio -Com-Net Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SITA and a leading provider of audio-visual customer communication systems, announced today the acceptance of a notice to proceed from Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport (GRK) to install a new ECLIPSX® 6.0 Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) to include ECLIPSX Weather, FlightView XML Flight Data and SITA Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS). Com-Net, the airport’s current provider of ECLIPSX Multi-User Flight Information Display Systems (MUFIDS) since 2004, will work with Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport staff to seamlessly integrate the newest ECLIPSX technology on the market today. Com-Net’s RFP process stood out among competitors and was among one of GRK’s top priorities. Installation of the new system will begin in January 2012 and will include 25 commercial-grade LCD displays with integrated Digital Display Controllers (DDC’s), 5 Hewlett Packard (HP) FIDS Workstations, 14 CUPPS Workstations and a combination of 18 printers at the Airport’s ATO & Gate Counters. Recent studies have shown that Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport’s economic impact is growing and is five years ahead of its projected schedule. The ECLIPSX MUFIDS upgrade project will ensure the airport’s expanding passenger base a more informative traveling experience delivered through state-of-the-art digital displays to include real-time flight and weather information as well as alleviate manual processes for GRK staff with FlightView flight data and common use technologies through CUPPS. “With a Com-Net Software/SITA product, you get the best of both worlds: the global, first-class reputation of SITA, combined with Com-Net’s tailored, personal attentiveness. Our passengers will literally have access to the same technology used at London Heathrow or O’Hare International Airports, without forfeiting quality. I’m confident this team of expertise will deliver an exceptionally superior product.” said GRK Airport Network Technician, Diane Watt. |
