Miamisburg, Ohio -Com-Net Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SITA and a leading provider of audio-visual customer communication systems, announced today the acceptance of a notice to proceed from Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport (GRK) to install a new ECLIPSX® 6.0 Multi-User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) to include ECLIPSX Weather, FlightView XML Flight Data and SITA Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS).
Com-Net, the airport’s current provider of ECLIPSX Multi-User Flight Information Display Systems (MUFIDS) since 2004, will work with Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport staff to seamlessly integrate the newest ECLIPSX technology on the market today. Com-Net’s RFP process stood out among competitors and was among one of GRK’s top priorities. Installation of the new system will begin in January 2012 and will include 25 commercial-grade LCD displays with integrated Digital Display Controllers (DDC’s), 5 Hewlett Packard (HP) FIDS Workstations, 14 CUPPS Workstations and a combination of 18 printers at the Airport’s ATO & Gate Counters.
Recent studies have shown that Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport’s economic impact is growing and is five years ahead of its projected schedule. The ECLIPSX MUFIDS upgrade project will ensure the airport’s expanding passenger base a more informative traveling experience delivered through state-of-the-art digital displays to include real-time flight and weather information as well as alleviate manual processes for GRK staff with FlightView flight data and common use technologies through CUPPS.
