Miamisburg, Ohio -Com-Net Software, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SITA and a leading provider of audio-visual passenger communication systems, is pleased to announce the notice to proceed of the Electronic Signage Information System (ESIS) installation project at Miami Dade Transit. ECLIPSX PIDS® will offer more than just digital signage capabilities, by also providing a full transit based operational system to improve efficiency with access to real-time station status of device groups, next train scheduled, actual time updates and operational status notifications. Miami Dade Transit will also leverage Com-Net Software’s ECLIPSX Media Manager to deliver a rich media experience to its 295,000 daily passengers. Media Manager will enable Miami Dade Transit to embed digital media into the ESIS display screens for the purpose of advertising, promoting local attractions via public service announcement, or notifying passengers of transit services. Com-Net Software integrators are actively working with Miami Dade Transit staff as installation of the new ESIS is underway. The system is to include more than 188 commercial-grade LCD displays within 42 custom LCD enclosures at the existing 22 Metrorail Stations and the new MIC Station, currently under construction. Additionally, Com-Net’s integration team will aide in the installation and configuration of the new Cisco Wireless infrastructure to serve as the network backbone for the ESIS system. “The Miami Dade ESIS system is one of the largest and most significant ground transit projects we have undertaken,” said Mark Mayfield, Com-Net Software Director of Sales and Marketing. “It is indicative of the quality focus Miami Dade Transit has on the service it provides and we are proud to have been selected.” |
