Com-Net Software, a major integrator of flight information display systems (FIDS) and related systems in North America, today announced the signing of a contract with Philadelphia International Airport for an automated system to control the flow of aircraft during the de-icing process. Philadelphia International Airport has designed and is currently implementing one of the most advanced automated de-icing systems in the United States.
Com-Net’s aircraft flow control system will perform two main functions: control aircraft flow to and from seven slots on the airport’s de-icing pad and data warehouse information associated with the de-icing process, from start to finish.
“This project is a perfect fit for Com-Net,” commented Robert Norvell, National Director of Sales Consulting, “because of our many years of experience in systems integration and database manipulation.”
To complete this $1 million+ project, Com-Net will integrate camera surveillance, radio communication, taxiway lighting control and database management into an efficient, automated aircraft flow control system. |
