Com-Net Software, the leading information display system provider for airports, airlines and mass transit in North America, today announced that it has been selected by Bakersfield International Airport (BFL) to install the airport industry’s first fully integrated, digital audio-visual communication system in their new terminal. Bakersfield will install two products from Com-Net’s Passenger Communication Systems Suite: ECLIPSX® Flight Information Display System and ECLIPSX Digital Paging.
"I am very excited about the partnership that we have and continue to establish with Kern County and the Bakersfield Airport, said Dave Michaels, Com-Net President and CFO. "Their vision to provide world class service to their passengers sets a high standard in the industry; it’s impressive and we are proud to help them achieve their goals." "Our goal is to have a building with leading technology and world class service." said Ray Bishop, Airport Director. "Com-Net's Passenger Communications suite of products will ensure that we meet that goal. Their system will provide an integrated audio and visual messaging system that utilizes new technologies and will provide our passengers the highest level of customer service."
"The integrated system provides functionality never before seen in airports," said Montee Fiely, Director Sales and Marketing. "This installation will mark the beginning of a new era in passenger communications systems." Flight events, such as arrivals, cancellations, and status changes trigger synchronous audio and textual messages to appropriate zones of speakers and displays. This innovative system design makes it possible for airports to provide equal access to information for passengers with visual and hearing impairments." The project phase is underway with installation scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2005. |
